The press release reported second quarter 2025 adjusted earnings of approximately $5.50 per share, which was \u201cbelow . . . prior expectations\u201d due to \u201cmedical cost pressures in all three lines of business.\u201d The Company also announced that it \u201cexpects these medical cost pressures to continue into the second half of the year\u201d and cut guidance for expected adjusted earnings per share 10.2% at the midpoint, from \u201cat least $24.50 per share\u201d to a \u201crange of $21.50 to $22.50 per share.\u201d The press release revealed Molina was experiencing a \u201cshort-term earnings pressure\u201d from a \u201cdislocation between premium rates and a medical cost trend which has recently accelerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">On this news, Molina\u2019s stock price fell $6.97 per share, or 2.9%, to close at $232.61 per share on July 7, 2025.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Then, on July 23, 2025, Molina issued a press release reporting its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 and further slashing the Company\u2019s full-year 2025 earnings guidance. The press release revealed, in part, that the Company\u2019s \u201cGAAP net income was $4.75 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2025, a decrease of 8% year over year;\u201d and it \u201cnow expects its full year 2025 adjusted earnings to be no less than $19.00 per diluted share.\u201d This represented another 13.6% cut to guidance of earnings per share at the midpoint, from the cut to guidance announced less than two weeks earlier. Molina also cut its guidance for its full year 2025 GAAP net income 27% to $912 million.
